The Blue Boppers have been founded in 1980 by Liesbeth vander Linden from Grootebroek. Already in 1984 (on the first dutch championshipfor acrobatic rock 'n' roll teams) the team became dutch champion.Totally the Blue Boppers have been 7 times dutch champion since.For the last time in 1995.
Since we were not able to attrack new dancers, on august 26, 1998 the decission was taken to stop with the team.
Individuel dancers are still available for demonstrations.
As a result of these successes, the team has a lot of internationalexperience. In november 1995 the Blue Boppers have attended the world championship in Toulouse (France).Here the team reached a disappointing 7thplace.
In acrobatic rock'n'roll ther is next to the dancing an importent role for the acrobatics.This is often described as very spectacular.

It is not nescesarely, but since the trainings take place in West-Friesland (NH, The Netherlands) it is easy if you live near Hoorn, Enkhuizen or Medemblik.
The rock 'n' roll dance sport is the ideal way to keep in shape. The combination of dancing and acrobatics gives you a good condition.Training take place on various kinds of music,it is no longer so that there is only 50's rock'n'roll music to dance on.The Blue Boppers dance their competitions on numbers of Housemartins, Wall Street Crash and Geraldine.
Reguraraly the team is asked to perform their spectacular show at special accasions as parties, openings and other festivities.The Blue Boppers then perform a rock 'n' roll program, in which show and acrobatics are the most importantelements. Depending on the space and the wishes of the organizer the show is performed by 1 to 6 rock'n'roll couples and a number of boogie woogie dancers.
The Blue boppers do these performances, under the name 50's FOREVER, together withthe BoogieBears. This is a Boogie Woogie show team, that is also from West-Friesland (NH, the Netherlands)Together the Blue Boppers and the Boogie Bears are able to perform a complete show, depending on the wishes of the organizer.Games are very important to the Blue Boppers. In fact the training through the year is focused on the games. The main goal is to perform best at the games and of course at the dutch championship.
The goal of formation rock'n'roll is that 4 to 8 couples perform their choreografic and acrobatic syncronously.The team that combines the highes difficulty in acrobatics with a perfect performance and a matching chorografiewil become first. At this moment in the Netherlands the teams are very close, so no one can predict the result of a game.
When you see a performance of the Blue Boppers it wil be clear to youthat a good and regular training is nescesarely to perform their spectacular acrobatics.
The Blue Boppers train two times a week, one is used to train the acrobatics and the other is dedicated to the choreagrafic and show elements.
The trainings are on friday night and sunday morning.
The Blue Boppers are a member of the NRRA. (dutch association for rock'n'roll, boogie swing and acrobatic dance).The NRRA takes care for the competition. At the competition manager everything about the competition can be found. Because the NRRA is a member of the WRRC the teams are able to attend the european and world championships.
Other teams who dance under the auspicion of the NRRA are The Rockin' Skylights from Rijen,
the Cheese Town Gang and 10 o'clock sharp from Alkmaar.This season (1998) the Blue Boppers will NOT participate in the competition. We have too few couples to act at this level.
